Why be a Sponsor:Traditional Building Conference Series 2011Philadelphia'a historic Ivy Hall – April 14-15 The Traditional Building Exhibition and Conference has changed in 2011 to meet the new needs of our constituents: architects; contractors; building owners, facilities managers and suppliers. The $170 billion traditional building market still needs the education, networking and new business development opportunity that a conference and exhibition provides. Architects, who comprise 35% of the Traditional Building Exhibition and Conference attendees, still need to earn their AIA Learning Units every year, not just for AIA but for licensure. Contractors who do historic restoration and renovation still need to study the nuances of this kind of work and to meet the tradespeople who specialize in it. Building owners, many of them new to the challenges that historic buildings present, need to protect and improve their investment now more than ever. And everyone needs good quality suppliers who can provide product and service solutions. How can we best serve the needs of our constituents in this recession? What is the new model for trade shows and conferences now and in the immediate future? Here is our new plan for 2011. Our new format leverages the strengths of the Traditional Building Exhibition and Conference and minimizes the weaknesses. We will deliver more value for less cost…for sponsors and attendees. We have launched 4 local/regional events starting April 2011. Each conference event will take place in a historic venue (hotel, museum or institution) not a convention center. This makes attendance more interesting. The first Traditional Building Conference in our series was Philadelphia April 14-15, at the historic Ivy Hall. Our next stop in the series was Boston's historic Exchange Building, on the waterfront. We have eliminated expensive, convention center move-in/move-out costs and attendees avoid travel costs. The Conferences will be 2 days (not four days) with education and networking. The core curriculum will stay the same for all 4 markets with some variations based on local relevance. We will travel to Philadelphia; Boston; New York and Washington DC. We expect 200 quality attendees per city. Attendees include architects; designers; general contractors; custom builders; restoration/renovation specialists; facilities managers and building owners. We will have special incentives for attendees to bring groups: the whole architectural or building firm not just one person from a firm. The admission fee is $200 for two days, which includes 10 AIA learning units and 5 meals. Each Traditional Building Conference in the series will offer 10 AIA Learning Units as well as education accreditation from NAHB; NARI; AIID and other industry associations. Education tracks will include preservation practice; period design; sustainability and traditional trades, subjects we know from prior events to be compelling. The theme for the Traditional Building Conference Series is “Sustainability: Design, Craft, and Tradition.” Our primary industry partner is the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art who has strong local and regional chapters in each of the markets we serve. We will also work with the local chapters of APT, the AIA Historic Resources Group and additional industry partners, where appropriate. This helps to get the word out and drive quality attendance. Rather than “selling booths” to exhibitors, we offer three levels of sponsorship participation (including table top display) to select companies who are committed to the traditional building market. Most exclusive sponsors will participate in all 4 Traditional Building Conference events in the 2011 series and some will sponsor in selected markets. A list of sponsor benefits is below with the benefits of Gold, Silver or Bronze Sponsorships itemized. When you sign on as a sponsor, you "own" your product category exclusively. So, there are a limited number of sponsorships available. Sponsors who want to underwrite a single event in one location, or sponsor the 2 or 3 remaining events, will be accepted. The biggest difference between the NEW Traditional Building Conference Series and the Traditional Building Exhibition and Conference is size, frequency and location. Rather than producing one big national four day event, we get more nimble, take the education to the audience by moving from market to market and we book smaller more interesting and intimate venues. This will make the Traditional Building Conference Series more affordable, more time efficient and convenient for attendees while also lowering cost and increasing the impact for sponsors. Gold: $5,000 per event; or $20,000 for all 4 events
Silver: $3,900 per event; or $15,000 for all 4 events
Bronze: $3,500 per event; or $12,500 for all 4 events
